Hi!
I’m back. I know I’ve been gone for quite some time from the blog…a little over a year. I recently began popping up here and there on instagram, snapchat, twitter, etc…and doing a little bit of stuff behind the scenes on my blog.
In case you are wondering why I’ve been away for so long…here it goes.
I lost my mommy early last year, and it’s been extremely rough on my heart. My dad is ill with a few things, one of which is terminal. My circle of friends has gotten smaller. Family has said and done some pretty ridiculous things. It’s been heavy…and honestly I have been through some pretty dark moments that have made me question why I am still here. I am still working through so much, and all these experiences in this past year and a half have made me appreciate what and who I do have. I am grateful for the love that is flowing in my direction and for those who are genuine and continue to support me. I could write more about the subject, perhaps another time. I am trying to keep it light!
But I will tell you, it’s a process getting back to blogging. Feeling more awkard than my usual self at events, (I haven’t always fit in). Figuring out what to post on my social media. Snapchat is so fun and easy, but when I am down I don’t want to show my face…like who wants to see a Debbie Downer with puffy red eyes. So I am just doing what works for me. Planting little seeds when I am truly “feeling it”.
This is my first post back. And decided it needed to be colorful. We shot these pictures in Las Vegas. Needed a little getaway trip. And you’d think after all the shenanigans we’ve been through, we’d go somewhere a little less crazy. But somehow, Vegas seemed to feel right. We booked a few nights at The Oasis at Gold Spike. When we arrived they were kind enough to give us a little upgrade to a poolside room and even treated us to breakfast and Fiddlestix. The hotel has a mid-century modern feel with a touch of hipster-ness. Super welcoming to the LGBT community. It is definitely a place to crash at after partying. There is pretty much a playground for grownups in the backyard, with all sorts of crazy games at The Goldspike. But also a great little oasis that is the swimming pool where we spent most of our time.
During this trip we had a little “treatyoself” moment a-la Donna and Tom. We said what the hell and went to see Zumanity. Blown away, go see it. And afterwards ended the night with a little nightcap at The Chandelier Bar inside The Cosmopolitan. yum.
So tell me, what have you been up to? Any trips lately? I’m looking for ideas! or even self-care tips!
Thanks for stopping by. I promise to bring you more colorful pretty things!
xoxo
