Foodie and Ford – How Ford uses natural resources in their vehicles

Did you know that Ford is super environmentally friendly?I had some idea…but didn’t know how dedicated they actually are!
I had a great time during Ford en Español’s lunch yesterday, learning about sustainability in their vehicles.

They’re so cute! – the lunch menu created by Chef Rivas (of KMR Gourmet) was inspired by the materials Ford uses. For example, this cucumber mojito appetizer was accented with dandelions. Just one of the natural resources that are used. They are used as an alternative to natural and synthetic rubber.
I was also surprised to find out that crops like soy, tomatoes, and corn are also integrated into Ford vehicles. smile emoticon Pretty cool! I’m all for being kinder to our earth. smile emoticon

And fun fact – they also use denim, coconut, and recycled money in the carritos! That’s so cool, just a few weeks ago I was driving a Ford Fiesta rental and didn’t even know I was riding around in old money. haha! (roadtrip outfit here.)

And noteworthy – not usually a fan of Tres Leches cakes…but this one infused with Coconut was OUT OF THIS WORLD. my tummy thanks you. 🙂

If you want to learn more about how Ford uses natural resources in their vehicles, check out this post in The New York Times.

And if I haven’t thanked you lately, thanks for hanging with me and supporting my blog. 🙂 Hope you’re having a great week.
